Who We Are

Hope for Humanity is a non-governmental organization based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, dedicated to the protection and empowerment of vulnerable children, youth, and adults. Established in 2022, our mission is to combat trafficking, domestic violence, exploitation, and neglect while providing comprehensive support to those in need. We aim to create safer communities where individuals of all ages can thrive in dignity and security.

Our work focuses on critical areas, including protection from trafficking, domestic violence prevention, legal support, income generation, and empowering individuals through education, nutrition, early childhood development, and youth empowerment programs. We equip individuals and families with the resources and skills needed to break the cycle of poverty and vulnerability, providing them with opportunities to rebuild their lives.

Through partnerships with government agencies, civil society organizations, and the private sector, we implement targeted interventions that prioritize safety, justice, and long-term empowerment. We also offer legal assistance to victims, ensuring their rights are protected.

Our Mission

It is our mission to intervene in ways that will empower, enable and perpetuate sustainable change that will benefit children and youth of Sri Lanka, to preserve their right to grow free of all cruelty, exploitation, violence and neglect, and to create safe spaces for them and their families.

Our vision is to protect all children and youth and to enable them to build better lives for themselves and their families.

Our Purpose

Our primary focus and ultimate purpose institutionally are to protect children and youth and to enable them to grow in safe and empowered communities so that they will have the best opportunity to reach their fullest potential in life. To this end, we especially purpose to free youth and children from the effects and impact of all forms of domestic violence, trafficking and exploitation, and to tackle the causes that leave children and youth vulnerable and susceptible to these.

What We Do

• We build communities where all children and youth are protected from trafficking, domestic violence, and exploitation, while ensuring access to food, healthcare, education, recreation, and emotional support.


• We promote sustainable development by empowering survivors and vulnerable individuals to achieve financial independence, providing them with the necessary resources and support.


• We protect children and youth by strengthening communities, preventing vulnerability to trafficking, violence, and exploitation through awareness, education, vigilance, and other empowering interventions.

Where We Work

We operate in Nuwara Eliya in the Central Province of Sri Lanka and are planning to reach children, youth, and families in need across the country, specifically in the Southern, Northern, and Eastern Provinces.

Our projects are funded by SOLVA (Switzerland) and FRIENDS Kinderhilfe International (Germany).

Our Collaborations

Hope for Humanity collaborates with government and non-government stakeholders, including the District and Divisional Secretaries of respective districts and divisions, the Provincial Education Ministry, NGO Coordinators, Sri Lanka Police, Probation Officers, the National Youth Service Council, and the National Child Protection Authority.
